Left 4 Dead: Beware

As promised…L4D fan fiction. Enjoy!

Left 4 Dead: Beware [part 1]

“The screams kept on going on and on…I was terrified. I knew she was coming for me. I guess I wasn’t able to realise that back then.”

May 24, 1988 – A young woman and her apparently boyfriend just entered the local hospital. From distance she seemed pregnant. Back then I didn’t spot the red-blooded skirt. I just crossed the street when one of the nurses called for me.

I entered the hospital and I received a note with the patient’s name. She was Donna and she’d been attacked. She was seven months pregnant that time.

Her boyfriend was scared as he’d just came out from Hell. They were at the bank when two masked individuals came in. Donna was hit by one of them. She fell down and that guy kicked her in the stomach…this caused the bleeding and in the end the death of her child.

“She is asleep now…she is okay” I tried to comfort her lover. “I’m sorry but the baby…your baby is gone…”. The man started to cry.

“The baby was everything to her…” he moaned. “Everything”.

May 24, 20 years later – TV: “The infection continues to spread. Only last night another 44 victims were brought to the local hospital.” we see a hand with a remote control putting an end to the live broadcast.

A man stands up and walks towards the door. Here he grabs a shotgun and his hat. He looks back and we realise that he is the doctor. “The only way to stop this is by killing them”.

– Dr. Curien [what a coincidence] struggled to obtain a cure for this disease. It all started 2 years ago. An infected dog was brought in the state for research. One night he managed to bite one of the scientists. In like 30 seconds the man was dead…but he didn’t remain like that. He woke up with an insane need of human flesh. He didn’t look like a movie zombie but like a much more worse specimen. From this man, the infection spread to the entire state.

The doctor just closed the door when 2 little kids jumped on him. He had to push them away and blown their brains. “In situations like this..it’s you or them. I never looked in their eyes when I killed them. But I’m sure they wondered why”. A group of people entered an abandoned bus. The doctor saw that several infected were chasing them. They looked like they escaped from Hell. Everybody could figure that out. These people weren’t what they used to be…now they were looking like Devil’s most loyal servants.

L4D fan fiction [update]

Alright…the other day I was thinking about how should I begin with the fic..and like magic the image of The Witch came into my mind.

Spoilers ahead—->

You remember that she cries a lot…so I’ll make an excuse for that behaviour…when she was still a human being she was a mother…and she lost her child…and she cried…then she became a special infected…and she’s still crying.

For now I’ll just tell you this…of course that the first chapter will introduce also The Boomer. And hundreds of zombies….uuhh I’m getting excited. Soon to come, bitch!

Left 4 dead

I’m sure you heard about this game. And if you didn’t,  google it a little bit!

Left4dead_logo

One of the best survival first person-shooters ever created. And of course, if it comes to FPS, we talking about Valv3 Corporation.

All over the world, gamers enjoy spending hours and hours playing this co-operative FPS online. I didn’t play it online, but I enjoyed myself with it, more hours than you can imagine. I had a few days that I played it all day long…and I wanted more.

There are two version of the game, one for PC and one for X-Box 360. The story of the game it’s pretty simple. Four people survived a mass-infection which transformed the population into zombies. They are fast, they are furious and of course, they are hungry!!! You [the character you choose] must eliminate all the hordes of zombies that you encounter during playing the campaigns.

There are four major campaigns in Left 4 Dead: No Mercy, Death Toll, Dead Air and Blood Harvest plus two bonus campaigns: Crash Course and The Last Stand.

You may choose a character between Francis [biker], Bill [Vietnam veteran], Louis [system analyst] and Zoey [female college student]. Of course I only played with Zoey, as most of my friends did.

The only thing you always have to do is survive. One mission/map leads you to a safe-house. You must reach this location and fight with the zombie hordes and the other infected units.

The special infected units of the uncommon ones are The Witch, Boomer, Hunter, Smoker and the giant Tank. All of them can be brought down easily if you cooperate with your team. One thing you have to always avoid is The mothafuckin’ witch. Yo, “the bitch is always crying, but if you startle her, you always dying”.

I remember that I always used to shoot the bitch when I was near her and almost every time I died.

Another interesting fact about the game is that you must be quiet. Noise will always allert the hordes and they come to hunt you down. Some missions/maps are just about this. When you have to open a door or to call an elevator of if you start the car alarm, zombies will know where to find your arse.

But being attacked by so many zombies is so much fun. You can always score multiple headshots during a violent zombie attack.

Why did they called it a survival? Because that’s the purpose of the game. Survive and reach the safe-house. And  because in the last mission of each campaign you must survive till rescue is coming. I really like the map when I’m on the top of a building waiting for the chopper to come. Like in the final seconds before rescuing I was trapped by a Smoker and a Hunter just jumped on me. But I managed to survive [that time].

All this being said, you must play this one and of course you must play the upcoming Left 4 dead 2 too, which I think will be much better than the first one. You can check this TV promo for L4D2:

And finally  a little gameplay from Left4Dead presenting the first mission from the No Mercy Campaign. Enjoy!
